Gratitude

Updated: Aug 21

8th December 2022

After three days in A&E without eating, I didn’t feel safe being discharged. My consultant at the London Clinic suggested further tests there. Given my condition, weight loss of 5kg in 5 days, and anaemia from blood loss, I agreed.

Shortly after admission, a doctor examined my throat with a camera and confirmed it was healing normally after my second operation. They treated my anaemia with tablets, aiming for a natural recovery over four to six weeks instead of another blood transfusion.

I was in pain, but medication and the care team helped relieve it. Rob admitted he had PTSD from the A&E incident and couldn’t stop thinking about it. I had PTSD too but focused on staying strong and healing. I mapped out the incident on A3 paper with images and keywords to release it from my mind and detailed my feelings.

The London Clinic started an internal investigation, interviewing Rob and me to see if anything more could have been done before my discharge. I felt unlucky but believed my family in heaven was looking out for me.

Gratitude Poem from 2nd December 2022 experience.

We are family,

My heavenly earth sisters, brothers and family.

We are family,

I do believe my heavenly sisters are watching over me.

We are family,

Today, I am thinking about you all, spiritually watching the stars.

We are family,

Getting love in a family way.

We are family,

Hey Hey Hey

I’ve got all my heaven & earth sister’s and brother’s watching over me.

We are family,

I have faith love & courage in me.
