Walking

Updated: Aug 21

15 December 2022

Today was busy! In the morning, I had a follow-up appointment with the doctor who performed my second surgery. The doctor said I was still healing and had a lot of phlegm in my throat. Regarding the tumor, it was aggressive but usually doesn’t spread to neck lymph nodes. Unfortunately, I was unlucky.

My next follow-up is after the Christmas holidays, in early January. By then, the doctor will examine the tumour and ensure nothing else needs to be done before I start radiotherapy in mid-January 2023. It’s been a long six months, but I don’t want to dwell on this news. I’m delighted to take time to heal and enjoy Christmas with my family. That’s all I want, and I’m a happy bunny.

In the afternoon, I met with my original doctor, who confirmed the same message and that I will be under the care of Cromwell Hospital for my radiotherapy.

The best part of today was walking to both appointments, about a 40-minute walk each way. I love walking and usually walk everywhere around London. It felt good to be walking again.
